After his commitment to the Army was completed in 1987, he worked for a local Custom rehab supplier. He designed, built and sold very custom wheelchairs. AWA started as a full accessible remodeling company along with a complete line of lifts and elevators. As time passed, AWA evolved into just elevators and lifts. AWA is the leader in its field in Northern New England. In May of 2021 AWA was sold to National Seating and Mobility out of TN.
