DESCRIPTION:2022 Belt Sander Derby\n\nWednesday\, June 1st 4:00-6:30pm\n\nTeams: $100/team (1-4 people)\n\nGeneral Admission: $10/person\n\nDeadline to Enter: May 27th\, 2022 at 4pm\n\n \n\nOn Wednesday\, June 1st\, the New Hampshire Home Builders Association is hosting the 1st Annual NH Belt Sander Derby. The races will be held from 4:00-6:30pm at Middleton Building Supply in Meredith\, NH. Competitors customize their belt sanders\; however you want (including the mechanicals)\, and will race them down a track against another teams belt sander. Last team standing wins the coveted LaValley-Middleton Cup and will have their name engraved onto it.\n\nThe winners of the LaValley-Middleton Cup will also win a $500 donation to the charity or non-profit of their choosing. Non-profits can also compete themselves for a chance to win it! In order to be given the donation\, the nonprofit must have a representative present at the event. This event is open to any group that wants to participate: members & non-members\, non-profits\, local associations\, school groups\, or even individuals who think they can win on their own!\n\nWe will also be giving out other awards for ?Best Decorated?\, ?Best Team Name?\, the ?Team Spirit Award?\, and the dreaded ?Worst in Show?. These awards will be presented at the end of the event after the winners are presented the Cup.\n\nRules:\n\n Teams must register before the deadline in order to participate\n Teams must use a belt sander with a 3? belt width\n Teams may decorate their belt sanders however they wish\, as long as the decorations do not protrude more than 1? off the sides of the belt sander. Please note\, the belt sander will be lined to race behind a starting line. Any decorations added to the front of the belt sander will shift your starting point backwards so all parts of the belt sander are behind the line.\n Teams may modify any part of the belt sander they choose to\, including the electronics\, as they see fit\, so long as the belt sander is safe to race and the belt sander does not violate any other rules\, and so long as it fits onto the track.\n Teams may not modify the belt or the plug for the belt sander. \n Belt sanders will be given 1 failed start per race. On the second consecutive false start or failed start\, the offending team will be forced to forfeit.\n Any attempt to sabotage a different team?s belt sander will result in disqualification.\n Decisions of the judges are final.\n Remember\, above all else\, have fun. Keep it family-friendly\, and have a light-hearted competitive spirit. Judges have the right to refuse a team that is violating the spirit of the event.\n\n \n\nQuestions?
